Is divorce in the future for Douglas and Zeta-Jones?

Residents here in Massachusetts who are familiar with celebrity gossip are likely aware of the recent news floating around the internet this month concerning actors Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. They recently announced that they would be taking a break from their marriage in an attempt to evaluate it better. Some are now speculating that this could mean that divorce is just around the corner.

Actress Jane Lynch's wife to seek alimony in couple's divorce

Back in 2010, Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actress Jane Lynch was at the height of her fame. She was also in love, and in June of that year she and her girlfriend, a clinical psychologist, were married here in Massachusetts. The couple then registered as domestic partners in California, their main state of residence. To many of her fans’ dismay, however, Lynch announced earlier this summer that she has filed for divorce in California.

Dwyane Wade's ex goes public with property, alimony complaints

Generally speaking, celebrity and other high-asset divorce cases aren’t all that different from those of ordinary people, except that there are often complex financial issues that must be considered during the division of assets and debts. In the cases of some celebrities, however, another difference can arise: the possibility that public interest in the case could affect its outcome.

Often enough, a sudden job loss or economic downturn can make it hard for people to pay their child support. When the reason someone is failing to pay child support is a substantial change in circumstances, he or she should seek a child support modification as soon as possible so the problem doesn’t continue to build.

Iverson's ex-wife files suit for serious child custody violation

Former NBA star Allen Iverson played for Denver Nuggets, the Detroit Pistons, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Philadelphia 76ers, winning many awards over the course of his career until he retired in 2010. He was also divorced that year from his wife and the mother of his five children, but it appears he won't be winning any awards for positive co-parenting this year.

Richards to Sheen: no need for child support during guardianship

Actress Denise Richards did a kind thing recently. Richards, who was married to Charlie Sheen from 2000 to 2006, has two daughters with the actor, along with a toddler of her own. Her kindness was in regards to another of Sheen's ex-wives, Brooke Mueller, who recently needed treatment of an addiction and, unfortunately, the twin boys she had with Sheen were taken by Department of Children and Family Services. Richards agreed to take in the Sheen-Mueller twins and was awarded temporary guardianship over the boys, with everyone's consent.
