Edward A. Prisby

Attorney Edward Prisby is a seasoned trial attorney and partner at Kajko, Weisman & Colasanti, LLP in Lexington, where he chairs the firm’s civil litigation practice. With more than two decades of experience of trial advocacy, Ed represents individuals and businesses in complex litigation claims in both state and federal courts, delivering practical legal strategies grounded in deep trial experience.

Ed’s practice focuses on high-stakes civil litigation and personal injury matters. He has obtained favorable verdicts and settlements in multi-million-dollar business disputes in Massachusetts Superior Courts, including the successful resolution of a $5 million dollar wrongful death settlement in favor of a local family who lost their mother. He obtained a $500,000 judgment in favor of a defamation victim, and brought successful settlement relief for a family who lost a brother in a long-term care facility just shy of $1 million.

Other diverse matters that Ed has successfully litigated include:

  • sexual assault victims suing predators
  • owners of a shellfish farm against a government agency
  • a local contracting firm against property owners
  • beneficiaries of a Revocable Trust suing for breach of fiduciary duty against the Trustee
  • an employee suing his employer for religious discrimination
  • shareholders of a private firm suing for breach of fiduciary duty against the majority owner

Before joining the firm, Ed served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Bruce Selya on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Beyond the courtroom, Ed is lucky to have three amazing children, and is actively involved in his community in Grafton, Massachusetts, where he has served on the Affordable Housing Trust, as Chairman of the Finance Committee, and as a member of the Select Board. He is also terrible at golf but does not let that deter him.
