Has divorce become the healthiest option for you?

It can be difficult to decide whether or not to divorce your spouse. A recent study indicates that the average American spends 18 months contemplating divorce before actually filing a divorce claim. This trend strongly suggests that many individuals question whether or not divorce is the best option for them long before they opt to move on in life alone.

Ultimately, only you can truly know whether divorce is the healthiest option for you and whether divorce is the right option for you given your values and circumstances. As a result, it is often beneficial to do some serious soul-searching before you make a decision either way. However, it may benefit you to speak with an attorney about the divorce process and/or a counselor about healing after a divorce when contemplating your options.

For some individuals, divorce is a straightforward answer to a marriage that has become abusive, unfaithful or otherwise unhealthy. However, thinking about divorce can be a uniquely emotional process. As a result, it can be difficult to know whether divorce is right for you or not even if you have developed strong feelings on the subject either way.

It is for this reason that it is important to meditate, journal, contemplate the situation on long walks or to engage in thinking about your situation over time in whatever way allows you to clear your head. If you go in search of answers to your questions about divorce long enough, it is likely that an answer you can feel at peace with will form eventually.
