Sidney Gorovitz

Attorney Sidney Gorovitz serves as Chair of the Civil Litigation Department at Kajko, Weisman and Colasanti, LLP.

Sidney is a well-respected and very established attorney with over fifty-five years of experience in practice and as a civil litigator. His litigation experience includes having participated in over 100 jury trials, over 1300 depositions, and over 100 mediations and arbitrations respectively. In addition, Sidney devoted three full years representing victims of the Boston Diocese Sexual Abuse Crisis. He has also served his clients quite well in medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury cases where he and his firm recovered over $100 million dollars in damages for their clients.

Sidney previously spent 11 years as an elected member of the Framingham Planning Board from 1992 – 2003 and was its chairman from 1995-1998. During his term on the Planning Board, the Board permitted and oversaw rapid expansion of commercial development and residential housing having a build out value in excess of $500 million dollars. In addition, Sidney has represented and counseled foreign institutional buyers of more than $1 Billion Dollars of commercial real estate throughout the United States. Utilizing his real estate background, Sidney has advised clients in” the buying and selling of commercial properties; newly formed condominium associations in their disputes with developers as well as claims of adverse possession; and a broad, continuing segment of litigation related real estate matters.

In recognition of his decades of legal experience, professional accomplishments and results, Sidney has been selected to the peer nominated list of New England Super Lawyers each year since 2013. He has appeared numerous times as a presenter at the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education seminars on Civil Litigation. He is an alumnus of Boston University where he obtained his B.S. in Business, as well as his Juris Doctor (1971) in its 6-year combined business-law program (interrupted, however, for time in the Military Service). Sidney resides in Framingham with his wife of nearly 40 years. He is the father of 5 children, grandfather to 5 children, and a most loyal friend to 3 delightful granddogs.
